ORGANIZATION

Based in Toronto, Endeavour Volunteer Consulting for Non-Profits is a Canadian charity that provides management consulting to improve organizational capacity and community impact for non-profits that otherwise cannot afford professional consulting. Endeavour has two consulting engagement rounds during the year, in the fall and in the spring. For each round, Endeavour will recruit and match teams of skilled volunteers with non-profit organizations in need of pro bono consulting.

Since 2007, Endeavour has engaged more than 1000 volunteers on over 134 projects — delivering more than $8 million in pro bono consulting to local, national and international non-profits based in Canada. Endeavour’s partnerships with leading corporations in Canada offer pro bono and skills-based volunteering opportunities that contribute to employee engagement, professional and leadership development, talent retention and corporate responsibility goals.

Join Our Team as Director of Strategic Initiatives!

Make your mark on a growing nonprofit shaping the future of pro bono consulting in Canada. As Director, Strategic Initiatives, you will be at the heart of transformative projects that support Endeavour’s strategic goals. Collaborating with teams across the organization, you will help bring bold ideas to life and ensure our internal initiatives deliver real impact.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Project definition and planning: 

• Support the planning and implementation of strategic initiatives that advance Endeavour’s strategic objectives and operational effectiveness.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather input, track progress, and ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
• Develop and maintain project documentation, including work plans, timelines, and status updates.
• Monitor risks and assist in developing mitigation strategies throughout the project lifecycle.

Team Collaboration:

• Work closely with the VP, Strategic Initiatives to assign tasks and ensure accountability across team members.
• Engage with cross-functional internal teams and external stakeholders to support strategic projects.

Leadership:

• Lead the Strategic Initiatives team, including identification, recruitment, staffing, and leveraging team expertise.
• Establish performance indicators and dashboards to monitor project progress and deliverables.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and recommend innovative approaches to project execution.

Organizational Contribution:

• Participate in regular division meetings and broader Endeavour initiatives.
• Ensure alignment of strategic initiatives with Endeavour’s mission and long-term goals.
• Assist in preparing reports or presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
• Provide feedback and insights to help evolve and strengthen the Strategic Initiatives function.

QUALIFICATION

• Endeavour volunteer experience strongly preferred
• Experience managing a team in a volunteer and/or work environment
• Excellent leadership, teamwork, communication and presentation skills
• Proven experience in project management with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high levels of organization and attention to detail.
• Strong stakeholder engagement experience
• Strong initiative and results-oriented
• Ability to thrive in a virtual work environment
• Minimum two year commitment
