Endeavour is currently recruiting volunteer consultants, with an emphasis on those with Marketing or Strategy or Operations or Business Development or Non-profit or Government work experience.  As a member of the consulting team, you will have the opportunity to work on a 6-month engagement and provide strategic management advice non-profits in need. Teams are led by an engagement manager along with five consultants and mentorship from a project advisor.  


Due to COVID-19 restrictions in place, the projects will be held using online tools. (Note: The current round is being conducted online, including client meetings). Endeavour would make the necessary tools available for online collaboration and meetings.

This is a very rewarding volunteer experience that requires a time and team commitment. Endeavour’s clients work in a variety of sectors and services including the arts, children and family services, disabilities, education, environment, healthcare, immigrant services, rural development, skills training, poverty relief, and youth development.

Consultant Role 

Consultants participate in all aspects of the consulting engagement, from problem solving to delivering client recommendations. At Endeavour, we differentiate between a Consultant, and Senior Consultant. The Consultant is a role for working professionals. The Senior Consultant is a role reserved for a returning Endeavour consultant with positive feedback from former team members.

Consultants are responsible for the following:

  • Participating in orientation, training sessions, mid-term review and final review sessions – ENSURE TO REVIEW THE DATES NOTED BELOW
  • Working collaboratively in a team of peer volunteers
  • Providing support in developing a statement of work based on team consultations with your client and project advisor
  • Researching, collecting, analyzing and synthesizing data in a succinct manner
  • Developing strategic options and recommendations for the clients 
  • Making presentations to your client, fellow consulting teams, and members of Endeavour’s Advisory Committee and Executive Team
  • Sharing your experiences and feedback with the Endeavour Executive Team

To be eligible for Endeavour’s consultant opportunities, you must have a post-secondary education or equivalent experience, 3+ years’ work experience with a focus in business development and/or sales and/or marketing and/or strategy and/or operations and/or non-profits and/or government roles (directly or indirectly), and/or digital marketing and/or digital operations, and/or digital transformation automation and be adept at remote working. While our normal consulting rounds are limited to events and meetings in the Greater Toronto Area, due to COVID-19 restrictions and virtual meetings, we encourage outside applicants also to apply.

Volunteers must be available to attend the following events for Round 29, tentatively scheduled for the following dates:

6-month Projects

  • Engagement Manager/Consultant Orientation and Training Session- I: Saturday, March 26, 2022
  • Training Session-II: Saturday, April 23, 2022
  • Mid-Term Presentation: Saturday, June 04, 2022
  • Final Presentation: Saturday, August 20, 2022


Time Commitment

Depending on the phase of the projects, volunteers are expected to commit 5-10 hours per week for project work, meetings, events and travel to meetings/events. Volunteers schedule meetings with their team, client and advisor based on the availability of the participants, and make their own travel arrangements to and from meetings and events.

Application Instructions

If you have at least four years of experience managing a team and working with clients within a consulting firm or similar business environment, you should consider applying for the Engagement Manager role. If you would like to be considered for a consultant role as well, you can also apply for that position and will be considered for both. Only current or past Endeavour volunteers are eligible to be staffed as Senior Consultants.  Please note that the Engagement Manager role is a leadership position within the team and would require a commitment of 10-15 hours per week along with leadership skills / attributes (more details on the engagement manager role are listed at Please include all leadership, volunteer and extracurricular activities in your resume.


Round 30 Spring/Summer 2022 applications will be accepted until January 10, 2022 at 11:59PM (Eastern Standard Time).



Incomplete or late applications will not be reviewed. Applicants are strongly recommended to apply well in advance of application deadline to allow sufficient time to clarify any questions and to resolve any technical issues. Successful candidates will be contacted for a virtual interview which will take place over the weekend of February 5 and 6, 2022.  The interview will comprise of behavioural and situational questions, including a discussion on leadership experiences and a non-profit case study to be provided in advance.
