Tribute to Murray Glow, Past Board Chair of Endeavour Volunteer Consulting for Non-Profits June 12th, 2024
Endeavour would like to pay tribute to past Endeavour Board Chair, Murray Glow. We are saddened by the news of Murray’s recent passing.
We are so grateful that Murray chose to apply to be on the Endeavour Board of Directors and that our volunteers nominated and elected him to the Board. Murray joined the Endeavour Board of Directors in 2015, and soon after took on the challenge of the Chair role in 2016.
Having built his own consulting firm that served clients internationally and which eventually got bought by KPMG, Murray brought to Endeavour extensive experience as a visionary and strategic leader. However, what Endeavour volunteers will remember and miss him for most are his generosity, warm personality, passion and wisdom. These are the qualities that made him a wonderful person, mentor and leader to work with.
As Chair of Endeavour, Murray devoted his efforts to building relationships and partnerships to get Endeavour to the next level. One such partnership formed in 2016 was with LBCG, providing Endeavour with in-kind meeting and office space, and advisory support. Steve Lough and Tony Yu who worked with Murray at LBCG and Endeavour said, “Murray was a mentor and friend to many of us. He made an immense contribution to making the world a better place and us better people. We will miss his kindness, sage advice, wit and humour.“
In 2017, thanks to Murray’s leadership and generosity, the Board organized a milestone event for the community, celebrating Endeavour’s 10th Anniversary and recognizing our longest-serving volunteers, key partners, and co-founders. Photos from the event bring back fond memories of our time together. “Murray was one of the most considerate, humble and thoughtful individuals I’ve met. His dedication and passion for Endeavour and our mission could be felt throughout the team. We will truly miss him,” said Ada Tsang, Co-founder of Endeavour.
In 2018, Murray successfully guided Endeavour through a major transition, as the founding President of Endeavour stepped down after 11 years and an interim leader stepped into the role.
With his Chair term coming to an end in 2019, Murray passed the torch to Cecelia Paolucci. He continued to serve as a board member through the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. “He had been such a wonderful mentor to me at Endeavour. It was a privilege to succeed him as Board Chair. He was always so very invested in advancing the work of Endeavour,” said Cecelia.
We are thankful that Murray chose to gift his time and talents to Endeavour. His contributions have had a lasting impact on the organization and our volunteers.
“He was one of the nicest people I’ve met and was one of the most passionate supporters of Endeavour. I join all of us in offering my condolences to his family, friends and all who knew and loved him,” said Andy Donovan, past Endeavour Board member.
In honour of Murray, Endeavour has made a donation to the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation and planted a tree in his memory.
